Apply Now for the 2014 AAU Taekwondo Youth Leadership Award
INFORMATION:
The AAU Taekwondo Program is accepting applications for the ‘AAU Taekwondo Youth Leadership Award’. This scholarship award is given to honor one male and one female who are AAU Taekwondo’s outstanding young Black Belts.
Instructors who know an exceptional 15 – 18 year old Black Belt should submit their application for consideration. This award includes a $1000.00 scholarship for continuing education for one male & one female winner. It recognizes the individual who demonstrates the qualities of leadership that inspires everyone. Fill out the application and requirements listed and return by August 15th. Previous winners may not reapply. Non selected applicants may re-apply.
A three member committee will consider all applicants. This three member committee will be chaired by Master Kevin Balon and includes Mrs. Cheryl Fuhrmann and Mr. David Lieder. Mrs. Fuhrmann and Mr. Lieder are the parents of the first two winners of the Chris Canning Award. They understand the qualities of excellence that are being looked for in the winner as they helped to foster these qualities in their own children.
Announcement of the winner will be made by October 1st. An award, letter of congratulations and a check will be mailed to the winners following. A story will be put on the home page of our website, www.aautaekwondo.org, for all to see.

AWARD WINNERS
An award of $1000.00 for higher education will be given to honor one male and one female Black Belt between the ages of 15 and 18 that exemplifies the qualities of leadership that inspire us all. An applicant's resume is submitted by their instructor for consideration by a three person review committee. All those that have had their resumes submitted are of the highest quality and are young people to be admired.
