On the cusp of hosting its’ 2013 National Youth and Adult Taekwondo Championship, National Sport Chairman, Mike Friello, today announced an additional corporate sponsor for the Program.  “Effective with our new year, September 1, 2013, Vision USA shall be the Official PSS Supplier of the KP&P branded equipment.  This agreement shall run for a full four years and greatly enhance both the training of AAU athletes, including our National Teams, as well move AAU Taekwondo forward in the development of its Olympic Sparring Program.”

For the past few years now, there has been much demand for AAU Taekwondo to adopt the PSS system as an integral part of our sport rules.  However, I have been adamant that AAU Taekwondo not do so until this corporate sponsorship program was in place, said Mr. Friello.  For many, many years now we have sat patiently watching exactly as this new technology continued to shape how the game was played.  And for the earliest of these years it was our firm belief that the technology simply was not ‘game’ ready.

Yielding to the wishes of a majority of our elite athlete’s coaches, we did introduce the DaeDo PSS system at Team Trials a few years back but kept it out of the District and National level events.  Now with the full support and backing of Addidas we believe KP&P is the future of PSS.  No company is more involved with the Olympic process than Addidas.  And with their support we are fully confident that the KP&P system will continue to develop and more fully serve the ‘game’ rather than the game serving the equipment.

We look forward to a very mutually beneficial relationship with Vision, KP&P, and indirectly Addidas.  This coming week in Ft. Lauderdale, Vision shall have a presence at our National Championship both demonstrating the product and making the all-important personal contacts with the coaches most involved with the AAU Taekwondo Program.  KP&P will be used at Team Trials in September and will be utilized at next year’s National Championship for all the 10-11, 12-14, and 18-32 year old Black Belt Olympic Sparring Divisions.

Our District (state) Sport Directors, who have been requesting the use of PSS for years, will now have the opportunity to also use the KP&P system at all the AAU Taekwondo Qualifying Championships throughout the year.
