AAU National Elite Coaching and & Elite National Event Coaching Staff AAU TKD
Selection Criteria
The AAU Elite Coaches will be given the privilege of serving as members for 1 year; then they must be reconsidered based on the previous qualifications.
The AAU Elite coaches are selected by the following measures:
Must be in the top 20 Coaches at AAU Nationals in terms of number of participants averaged over the previous 2 consecutive years.
Must be in the top 20 Coaches at AAU Team Trials in terms of number of participants averaged over the previous 2 consecutive years.
The National Chair/s or selected officials will review this list of 20, highlighting coaches they feel best represent the values of AAU TKD.
This list will be reviewed by the National Referee Chair as well as a pool of referees selected by the National Referee Chair; their purpose will be to reveal which coaches are best able to work within the sparring environment in a cooperative way with their athletes, other coaches, and the officials supporting these events.
The National Coaching Director will review the remaining candidates, which will then be presented to the AAU Executive Committee for selection.
National Coaches and/or Elite Coaches may be removed at any time by the National Coaching Director, the AAU EC, and/or the National Chair/s on the basis that the coach is not performing or behaving in a way that meets the standards of AAU TKD.
