The AAU Taekwondo program is pleased to announce the addition of a Special Needs Division being included in our National Championships this year.

The competition this year is being added as a Demonstration Sport. This event is for Taekwondo athletes with Physical, Emotional and Developmental disabilities including, but not limited to, Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation, Paraplegic (wheel-chair), Blind, Deaf, Dwarfism, etc.There will be 3 separate levels of divisions based on abilities (please see information sheets below). The competition will consist of Forms & Point Sparring.

These divisions will be showcased as a Demonstration Sport this year in the hope that it will garner much attention and desire to include it permanently in our National program in the future.
