The Mission: To create a culture of integrity that provides athletes, coaches, officials and parents with opportunities to fulfill their goals and inspire others to follow theirs.
The AAU Taekwondo Commitment - This past weekend was amazing because you showed up!
To every parent who trusted us with your child, to every athlete who braved the current environment to persevere and to every coach who stood by their side as we all “Returned to the Ring,” you are the grassroots of the taekwondo movement and the reason why we all commit so much. I wanted to say Thank You and share with you my commitment as the National Sports Chair of AAU Taekwondo.
The Mission: To create a culture of integrity that provides athletes, coaches, officials and parents with opportunities to fulfill their goals and inspire others to follow theirs.
What Does This All Mean?
To Our Parents: You are our customer! Our commitment is to communicate our goals, plans and direction as early & as often as needed in order for your family to be able to plan and attend our events in an economical fashion. Our promise is to create a culture where you feel your child is in the best environment for their development as an athlete and future leader with a staff who is unmatched in talent and integrity.
To Our Athletes: You are our future! Our commitment is to provide you with opportunities that allow you to grow and push you to your limits in order to discover your ultimate potential. Our promise is to provide you with a clear understanding of how you can achieve those opportunities that are available within our program with a fair select process that is accessible to all who are willing to work for it.
To Our Coaches: You are our conduit! Our commitment is to build Taekwondo on the local level by creating opportunities that make athletes want to train and be proud that your club has brought them to the AAU, where these opportunities reside. Also, we plan to create opportunities for those coaches who desire to be part of this movement! Our promise is to never lose sight that your club is the athletes’ home; the growth of your club is fundamental to the growth of our organization!
To Our Staff & Volunteers: You are the extended family! Our commitment to you is to provide you with opportunities that are inclusive and where you feel your time as well as your talent are valued. Our promise is to act with integrity in all that we do and so you feel that you are part of an organization who is intentionally seeking the betterment of the sport and the art we all love.
Eleanor Roosevelt said, “The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams!” AAU Taekwondo will be part of the journey for those who believe.
