In 2020, the AAU Taekwondo Executive Committee decided to institute an “AAU Taekwondo Lifetime Achievement Award” to honor those who have committed their time and talents to the growth of taekwondo in both the AAU and throughout the world.

The committee feels the Lifetime Achievement Award is important to our organization and to the world of Taekwondo because it not only recognizes our heritage but will honor those whose legacy is the foundation for all future success. These individuals will forever be an example of what one person can accomplish for so many others.

The committee will endeavor to recognize individuals who have committed their lives to our art —not to be showered with accolades, but to give new life and growth to the art and the sport we cherish so dearly! Individuals will be selected when appropriate and inducted at our National Championships during our Hall of Fame ceremony. Our first award winner will also be the namesake of the award.

The AAU Taekwondo Executive Committee has nominated and voted unanimously to present the AAU Taekwondo Lifetime Achievement Award to Dr. Kyung-Ho Min.  Dr. Min was the first to bring Taekwondo into the AAU hosting the first officially AAU Sanctioned event in June of 1974. Dr. Min’s accomplishments are vast and his contributions are countless! The AAU is honored to present him this Lifetime Achievement Award and we look forward to celebrating with him in Las Vegas on July 6th.

If you would like to be part of this celebration honoring Dr. Min and our 2021 AAU Hall of Fame Inductees for the sport of Taekwondo, please Click Here to purchase your tickets.  Please notespace is extremely limited for the ceremony and tickets will sell out.
